On Our Own is a mental health consumer education and advocacy organization serving the state of Maryland. The group works to provide mental health services, recovery programs, housing facilities and helms a number of projects related to mental health. For instance, it has an anti-stigma project as well as the Olmstead project, which requires the state to provide community-based services rather than institutional confinement. It also has the WRAP project, or Wellness Recovery Action Plan, which offers classes and peer-to-peer groups to support recovery. If you'd like to become involved with the group, make a donation or if you're seeking help, visit its website or contact the listed number to speak with someone.
