The Metropolitan Ballet Theatre and Academy provides dance training regardless of physical limitations or aspirations. Classes focus on creative movement and are offered in pre-ballet, ballet, jazz and modern, for ages four to adult. Training ranges from beginner through pre-professional, focusing on a strong dance foundation based in technique and choreography.
Students have the opportunity to perform in several full-length productions throughout the year. These productions include the Spring Dance Concert, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Swan Lake, The Firebird and original works. The public performances are held at the Robert E. Parilla Performing Arts Center, Montgomery College. This is a 500-seat performance center.
Some MBTA students have continued their dance education, dancing with the American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, The Rock School, Masterworks, American Academy of Ballet, and others.
MBT studios are at the corner of Darnestown and Travilah roads in Rockville, just off of Route 28.
