Founded in 1909, Lutherville Volunteer Fire Company provides a variety of fire safety and prevention programs to the general public. It offers life, property and environment protection services. The department provides services to more than 30,000 residents and businesses throughout the communities of Lutherville, Timonium, Towson, Stoneleigh and Ruxton in Maryland. It additionally offers fire intervention, public education and safety awareness programs. The department provides training, emergency medical and water rescue services. It also offers fire inspection and investigation services for residential and commercial properties. The department provides various safety tips and related information on smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, electrical appliances and alarm systems. It responds to severe accidents involving a variety of vehicles, such as cars, motorcycles and tractors. The department employs over 100 firefighters and staff members, as well as coordinates through fire engines, ambulances and cranes. Lutherville Volunteer Fire Company is a member of the Maryland Association of Nonprofits.
