Situated in the Kensington Heights area, the building of Kensington Cooperative Nursery School is bright and boldly painted in the primary colors of blue, yellow and red. The co-op was founded in 1939, and has been in its current location since 1968. Children ages 2 to 4 are free to make decisions and grow in a nurturing environment that is designed just for them and their families. Parents can participate in the Parent Education Program to help implement the children's learned skills at home. Children play in several areas set up to promote their cognitive skills. There is an art center, kitchen and dramatic play area, music and circle time, a block-building area and more. There is also an area set up outside for children to play. Tuition costs depend on age and how many days a week the students attend.
