Why the name Impact Church Prior to June of 2008, Impact Church of Fruitland was known for many years as Faith Wesleyan Church. The decision to change the name of the church was made for many reasons, but the primary reasons were: Impact Church has been in existence since 1937 when it was started in a shirt factory on Wailes St. in Salisbury. The first church, was formally established in 1939 as People's Wesleyan Methodist Church. In the 1940's, the church began construction on a building at what is now the intersection of Truitt St. and Rte. 50 in Salisbury. It was renamed Salisbury Wesleyan Methodist Church. The church again relocated to the corner of Spring St. and Lincoln Ave. due to construction of Rte. 50, and following the merger of the Wesleyan Methodist and Pilgrim Holiness denominations in 1968, was again renamed as Faith Wesleyan Church. The church remained at this location until the late 1990's when it moved to it's current location on Moonglow Rd. in Fruitland. In 2008, as part of a 3 year initiative to revision our church from an inwardly focused institution to a missional, outwardly focused and active community of Christ-followers, the decision was made to rename the church again. The name Impact Church of Fruitland was selected in order to communicate to our community our commitment to carry out the Great Commission by being an asset and making a difference in the lives of our neighbors with the love and Christ and by the power of His Holy Spirit.
