HistoryRed Dragon Martial Arts was founded in 2000 by Dan Fleming in Clear Spring, MD. Dan was a former student and Black Belt under the Cobra Karate School of Hagerstown, run by Master Dave Leather. Master Scott Bossler a former student and Black Belt under Master Paul Wood, the founder of Cobra Karate, started attending Red Dragon in the summer of 2001. In February of 2007 operation of the school was turned over to Master Bossler, so that Dan could pursue other endeavors. Master Bossler moved Red Dragon to Hagerstown in the fall of 2013. Red Dragons curriculum has evolved over the years. The current curriculum incorporates not only Taekwondo but also Aikido, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Boxing. By incorporating other styles Red Dragon offers a well rounded system of self-defense. Our goal is to teach traditional martial arts yet include modern ideas and concepts. As the martial arts continue to evolve so does our curriculum, Red Dragon strives to provide the best training possible.SpecialtiesAffordable quality martial arts instruction for Children, Adults or the entire Family. Our main curriculum is Taekwondo based, however we also include Boxing, Aikido, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu through out the curriculum. We also offer fitness classes such as Cage Fitness & Beyond Kickboxing. Cage Fitness is a 30 minute total body work out. There is no fighting, partners, contact or getting in a cage! Just a kick butt workout with an MMA feel! Our Beyond Kickboxing program is a new program that is offered in either a 60 minute or 30 minute class. The main difference between the two is the number of rounds and the Self Defense Instruction that is offered in the 60 min. class.
