Mission: BELA is committed to providing a quality, nurturing, educational, and fun experience for all children. Our unique approach to early learning focuses on core values of compassion, confidence, respect, and stewardship. Children are accepted and recognized as contributing members of a global community. Parents and families at BELA are encouraged to be involved in the children's daily learning experiences. A Unique Approach to Early Learning: Nestled on the campus of Friends Meeting School in Ijamsville MD, BELA cares for children ages 2-5 years old. BELA is an independently owned MSDE Office of Child Care approved non-religious based educational program. Our preschool classrooms are taught by degreed teachers from 8:30am-2:30pm. Designed with each child's individual needs and interests in mind, children are encouraged to explore and learn within boundaries designed to develop independence and positive self-esteem.
Specialties
Communication: Through the use of a software system we track the activities in the classroom. Parents have access to digital daily sheets, pictures, and videos. Classroom Environment: We understand that a child's environment may have a profound effect on mood & behavior. Our homelike, comfortable, and cozy classrooms help children feel secure. Extra-Curricular Activities: Include a Spanish language program, soccer, dance, yoga, & tumbling are offered in rotation. Nutritional Snacks: We serve healthy, wholesome snacks including fresh fruit & vegetables. Parents send lunch from home. BELA provides milk with lunch daily. Outdoors at BELA: Teachers use the 54-acre campus of Friends Meeting School to take the learning experience outdoors including the butterfly & vegetable gardens. Practical Life Activities: Children at BELA can participate in Montessori inspired practical activities to develop concentration, coordination & independence to enhance self esteem.
