Benedictine Programs and Services, based in Ridgely, Md., is a school for exceptional children with multiple disabilities within an integrated, collaborative team teaching environment. The school offers a curriculum that provides instruction in traditional academic subjects, such as reading, math, social studies and science, supplemented with the instructional and therapeutic services that each student needs. The services include psychological and psychiatric services, social work, occupational and physical therapy, vocational and community-based instruction and communications therapy. They also include speech and language therapy, adaptive physical education and aquatics, behavioral programming and transitional services. The school aims to encourage each student to reach his or her full potential academically, vocationally, and socially.
