This congregation was already meeting when they bought their plot of land from Thomas Hamilton Arnold for $5 in 1859. Their church building was finished by 1888 and underwent a renovation in 2003. The church grounds, which also house a Fellowship Hall, preschool program and after care clubhouse, are located along Church Road, the turnoff spot for Arnold Elementary School's entrance. Because of its proximity to that school, the church developed an after care program for students of both the elementary school and its middle school Severn River.
The congregation is very active with local missions, offering an annual winter relief week for homeless men, as well as partnerships with the Salvation Army and Anne Arundel County Food Bank. There are men, women and youth programs, in addition to a busy music schedule for their church choruses and handbell choir.
