Aberdeen Middle School
Founded in 1973, Aberdeen Middle School is a community school offering various learning opportunities for students based in Aberdeen, Md. The school enrolls more than 1,000 students and offers classes from kindergarten grades six through eight. It has a parent-teacher association, parent volunteers, and a parent-school-business partnership team. It offers a wide range of subjects in its curriculum, including English, math, science, history, social science, world languages, visual and performing arts, agriculture, vocational education, business, consumer science, physical education, and elective programs in sciences. It also provides extracurricular activities, such as music, art, family and consumer sciences, and technical education. The school has a student weekend assistance team that offers tutoring, mentoring, problem solving and social skills development. It additionally offers a variety of athletic programs, such as football, tennis, volleyball, golf, swimming, gymnastics, basketball, fencing, wrestling, indoor and outdoor track, soccer, and softball. The school houses a fully equipped library, a media center and a computer lab.
