History
Since the 1980s, business owners Rich MacDonald and Natalie Springuel have been involved in field biology, ornithology, and marine ecolgy. They have both also been outdoor leaders and adventurers. In 2002, Rich and Natalie co-led the five-month Gulf of Maine Expedition, a sea kayak journey designed to raise awareness about this vast, international watershed. It was during that expedition that the idea for a nature-based business began to germinate. Today, The Natural History Center is a recognized leader in bird studies and tours around the world.
