Community Health and Counseling Services
CHCS, also known as Community Health and Counseling Services, was founded in 1883 when a group of churchwomen organized Associated Charities, a coalition of church and voluntary charitable organizations. It has various departments, such as children s services, home health and adult mental health services. Its children's services division offers community-based residential and outpatient programs serving children and their families in need of intensive help with emotional and behavioral challenges. Its adult mental health services department provides a wide range of services to adults with mental illnesses. Its home health division provides various services, including advanced wound care and enterostomal therapy, AIDS care, Alzheimer's disease consultation services, chemotherapy and cardiac rehabilitation. CHCS is Medicare- and Medicaid-certified and is located in Lincoln, Maine.
