History
Our Hoad family has lived on this land and in this 1820 vintage farmhouse since 1983. We believe that farm land should be kept open and preserved and we always worked to keep the fields from growing up; neighboring farmers have hayed here since before we arrived. Rose and Steve raised and showed poultry through the 80s and 90s and Penni raised some pigs. We always had fresh eggs, canned and froze produce and meats for ourselves. In 2004, Rose graduated from Sterling College in Vermont with a degree in sustainable agriculture and came home wanting to farm in Maine. For the last number of years Steve and Helen (husband and wife) and Rose (their daughter) have done our best to make a viable farm business for a life's career.
