Cleaning Genies was officially founded in 2007 after the owner's position as a Customer Service Manager for major accounts at a leading hardware distributor was eliminated due to the downturn in the construction industry. Eileen Doughty started her business on the belief that if she took care of the customers, they would come. During her first year in business she performed every function from cleaning houses to running the business on her own, with some assistance from her husband Dale who has business management and marketing experience. Soon she hired her first employee and now employs several year round full-time, part-time and seasonal employees that maintain numerous commercial and residential properties throughout southern Maine day and night every day of the week. Eileen contributes her success to growing up in the hospitality industry as the daughter of Innkeepers and emphasizing the customer experience to assure repeat customers and referrals for growth.
