History
I began in the jewelry business in 1969 working for a jeweler in Portland , Maine for the next few years I learned the nuts and bolts of retail jewelry. in 1978 I went to work for a small family jewelry store in Watrerville where I began tinkering with metal. I did some minor repairs for the store I was then working for and then as my abilities grew, I expanded to do wholesale repairs for another store in Old Town and one in Ellsworth. My shop was in the cellar of my home at the time. In 1981 with the financial assistance of father in law Paul Bulmer, I got the opportunity to purchase a store called Musicland in Rockland. The store was a general store of goods and services dealing primarilly with Nikon cameras, photographic chemestry and papers - 45 records, LP's, drumsticks, reeds for musical instruments and juice harps. The store did some jewelry repairs, camera repairs, photo processing, and sold a few diamonds and wedding bands.. over the years it has changed considerably!
