Aroostook Mental Health Center
The Aroostook Mental Health Center, also known as AMHC, is a private, nonprofit behavioral health care organization in northern Maine. Incorporated in 1964, the organization provides a range of rehabilitative services for children, adolescents, adults and families. It offers substance abuse residential treatment solutions that include medication management, medical assessment, socialization and transition case management support. The Aroostook Mental Health Center also offers residential treatment, outpatient consultation, advocacy, and respite and therapeutic foster care services. Its Center for Integrated Neuro-Rehab provides occupational, physical, speech and recreation therapies. The organization serves the residents of Houlton, Fort Kent, Caribou, Madawaska, Calais, Ellsworth and Machias in Maine. The Aroostook Mental Health Center offers a student assistance program for schools, colleges and universities.
