The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office is headquartered in Covington, La. The office has several departments that include criminal patrol, central dispatch, investigations, information systems, special operations and crime laboratory. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office operates a mobile command center that is equipped with a fax machine, computer, kitchen, bathroom, cell and radio boosters, side lighting equipment and more than five radio dispatch stations. The investigations department of the office investigates property crimes, thefts, burglaries, robberies, rapes and murders. It also intervenes in cases of domestic violence and provides information and assistance to victims.
