Southern Animal Foundation would like to take this opportunity to welcome you, your family, and your special family member to our website. As you continue to browse and explore our website, it is our hope that you will learn more about our dedication to your family and the quality veterinary medicine and service we provide. Founded in 1995 by two devout animal lovers, Anne Bell and Paul Berry, Southern Animal Foundation has grown from a grass roots organization to a full service, non-profit animal hospital. SAF rescues and treats companion animals from all over our state, as well as Mississippi. The mission of SAF is to eliminate the need for euthanasia as a means to control the epidemic of animal overpopulation in the greater New Orleans and surrounding areas. The clinic is one of the city's only low cost, non-profit animal hospitals. In 2002, fire destroyed our building, but we have come back bigger and better. It is our goal to give every pet, owned or abandoned, the chance at life they deserve. We work with regional as well as national rescue groups to ensure that every cat and dog that comes into our clinic gets the medical care they deserve.
