History
When we first opened in 1957 we only served boiled crawfish, boiled shrimp, boiled potatoes and onions. We only opened during crawfish season which was about 6 months out of the year. In 1983 Mr. Red retired and passed his business knowledge on to his son, Calvin and then daughter in law Roxanne. In 1997 Calvin & Roxanne expanded the business and went with a full kitchen offering a variety of fried and grilled seafood they also began opening year round. In 2007 a seafood buffet was added to complete the seafood restaurant you see today.
Specialties
Richard's was the first restaurant to serve boiled crawfish in a restaurant setting. We have been serving Acadiana since 1957 and you will still find us in our original building. We are a second generation business as the founder, Mr. Red Richard, passed his good cooking to his son and then daughter in law. We have a large selection of old fashioned seafood cooked the way your grandma cooked, but we are known for our boiled seafood.
