Located in Eunice, La., Louisiana State University of Eunice is a community college founded in 1964 by the Louisiana state legislature, providing basic higher education to students in southwest Louisiana. It serves more than 2,000 full- and part-time students. The university offers various degrees and diplomas. The college offers transfer, associate degree, and technical and continuing education programs. Its continuing education division provides distance education, evening and noncredit short courses, and fire science, summer enrichment and advanced college program for high school students. The center also organizes workshops on business and industry. It provides associate degree programs in arts, science, general studies, computer information technology, criminal justice, early childhood education, and fire and emergency services. The management courses include management, nursing, office administration, paralegal studies, radiology and respiratory care. The college offers certificate programs in fire investigation, fire science and office practices. It has a library, and also provides online courses and financial aid.
