History

The Louisiana Bucket Brigade (LABB) has supported fenceline communities (those that live next to a dump, refinery or chemical plant) in the state for more than 10 years. Founding Director Anne Rolfes incorporated the organization in 2000 with guidance from groups like Xavier University's Deep South Center for Environmental Justice, Earthjustice, Communities for a Better Environment and the Sierra Club.

Communities In Schools of the Gulf South, formerly known as Communities In Schools of Greater New Orleans, is a local affiliate of the national nonprofit organization founded by Bill Milliken over 40 years ago.
