History
At Hall-Barnett Gallery, owner Holly Barnett strives to continue the vision of her father, Howard Barnett, who founded the first contemporary art gallery in in New Orleans in 1988. The original Hall-Barnett Gallery was located on Exchange Alley, and featured unique work by both established and emerging artists. In 2013, Holly reopened Hall-Barnett Gallery on Chartres Street in the French Quarter, and then recently relocated to the gallery's current location in the historic Gallery Row on Julia Street in 2019. As a family run business for two generations, Hall-Barnett Gallery provides a deep sense of history and understanding of the New Orleans contemporary art scene.
