Elder Wood Preserving maintains a computerized wood treating facility capable of treating more than 200 million board feet of Southern Yellow Pine lumber and plywood every eight hours. The company s treating plant has a covered drip pad, complete with liner and a leak detection system that meets Environmental Protection Agency standards. A milling facility and kilns enable the company to custom dress lumber and run pattern stock, and the double arbor gang is capable of making special size timbers. Elder Wood uses Olympic and Ultrawood water-repellent products. It has more than 60 employees at its Mansura, La., location. Elder Wood Preserving was founded in January 1977.
