History
Cuban Liquor has been in business since 1934, when it was started by the grandparents of the current owner, Ron Lepow. After emigrating from Eastern Europe, Jacob and Gloria Greenberg spent a year or two in Cuba to earn capitalist visas, allowing them to gain entry into the United States, hence the name Cuban Liquor. In 1985, this Shreveport-based retail gourmet food, liquor, and wine chain was sold to Rex Smith who continued to run the flagship store on Pierremont until 2012. Twenty-seven years after purchasing it, he sold it back to the original family. In 2020, the Lepow family sold the business to Grant Nuckolls and Andrew Crawford, the owners of Twisted Root, Rhino Coffee, and Jacquelyn's Cafe in Shreveport.
