Established in 1973, Lafayette Catholic Service Centers is the parent organization for more than eight diocesan-sponsored programs that provides services for the poor and homeless individuals. Its programs include the St. Joseph Diner, St. Joseph Shelter for Men, St. Joseph Transitional Housing Program, St. Michael Center for Veterans and Bishop O Donnell Transitional Housing Program, as well as the Monsignor Sigur Service Center, New Life Center and New Life Child Care Center. Located in Lafayette, La., the organization offers permanent housing, hot meals, transportation, laundry facility, case management and skill training services. Lafayette Catholic Service Centers additionally provides employment, prescription assistance, financial support, counseling and rehabilitative services.
