How did we get our name? The shop began in Southern California during the heyday of the airbrushed conversion vans ( Remember the Stars Wars murals on vans in the 70's?) Bruce McKay started the shop when he was in high demand as an airbrush muralist, and was invited to New Orleans to spray a few vehicles for the World of Wheels event in the Superdome. Seeing that the demand was high, and his skills were unique, he decided to set up shop in Harvey, LA in 1976- and so began California Customs. Our locally owned facility in Harvey, Louisiana is rated among the finest and progressive collision shops in North America. The
