Julius Lips Door & Glass Co., Inc was founded in 1978 by Julius Lips, Sr., the fourth generation of glaziers dating back to 1899 when the Lips family was introduced to the glass industry. Julius Lips, Sr. opened his business as a service company and worked from his garage, working seven days a week. The Lips family has earned a reputation as one of the leading glass company in the New Orleans area. The company was incorporated in 1981 and moved into their current location at 363 Whitney Avenue in Gretna, Louisiana that same year. Now doing business as The Original Julius Lips Door & Glass Co., Inc, the company is now under the management of Mr. Lips' daughter, Linda Lips Snay, and her husband, William Snay.
