History
The Alario Center, opening its doors in the spring of 1999, designated to be a multi-purpose facility and sports center, has become the hub of social and cultural activity on the West Bank of the mighty Mississippi River. The 2,200-seat Main Arena plays host to events from basketball and boxing to consumer shows and graduations. The center is a joint venture between the State of Louisiana, Jefferson Parish, and Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District (LSED).
Specialties
The John A. Alario Sr. Event Center, the Alario Center Festival Grounds and Segnette Field, located in Westwego, Louisiana, combine to be the premier sports and entertainment complex in the Greater New Orleans area. The Alario Center is also practice facility of the NBA's New Orleans Hornets.
