Founded in 1821, Academy of the Sacred Heart is an independent Catholic school that serves girls in prekindergarten through twelfth grade. The school offers residential accommodations for students in grades 7 through 12. It offers a range of honors courses in English, mathematics, science and foreign languages. Additionally, the school offers advanced placement courses in English, calculus and French. The school also offers elective courses in English, science, mathematics and fine arts. Academy of the Sacred Heart high school offers a one-year program in English as a second language to international students. Berchmans Academy of the Sacred Heart is a catholic school for boys prekindergarten through twelfth grade, founded in 2006. Both schools are located on one campus located in Grand Coteau, La., and it is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest.
