Walbert Trucking began in the winter of 1931. William Earl Walbert purchased a 1928 Chevrolet from his brother, Carl Walbert. Carl, together with Ed Cox, owned and operated Walbert and Cox, the first trucking authority between Louisville and Nashville. A staff of mechanics, dispatchers and office personnel support the company. Walbert has customers throughout the Midwest and is recognized in the transportation industry. Besides utilizing trailers to transport freight both locally and cross-country, Walbert Trucking offers intermodal services and exchange agreements with the major railroads. The company has storage vans that are available on a rental basis to the public for local stores, construction companies, churches, and individuals. It operates more than 130 units and moves more than 5 million pounds of freight daily. Walbert Trucking is located in Glasgow, Ky.
