The Commonwealth Office of Technology of the State of Kentucky, with its executive office in Frankfort, Ky., provides leadership in the use of information technology in order to enhance government services, improve decision-making, promote efficiency and eliminate waste. It carries out the functions necessary for the administration of information technology and related resources by overseeing shared infrastructure resources and services, including large-scale computing, server hosting, security, data and voice communication networks, and phone systems. It performs strategic and tactical planning of information technology requirements, establishes policy and standards, develops and implements statewide applications, assesses, recommends and implements governance, and establishes partnerships and alliances for effective implementation of projects.
