Southeastern Kentucky Rehabilitation Industries, also known as SEKRI, is a nonprofit organization that provides social welfare, employment and educational services for people who suffer from disabilities. It works to create qualified workforce, facilities and employment options to increase competitive growth. The organization s members manufacture a multilayered cold weather system that is featured in Backpacker Magazine and is developed for Special Operation Forces. Its facilities are spread over an area of more than 30,000 square feet Southeastern Kentucky Rehabilitation Industries works in partnership with the National Industries for the Severely Handicapped (NISH) for conducting various research studies. It is one of the major participants in several state and federal programs that include Welfare to Work, Work Release, Workforce Investment Act and vocational rehabilitation.
