Rajesh A. Joseph, M.D. was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Fremont, Ohio. After high school he attended a six-year combined B.S./M.D. program at Northeast Ohio Medical University. Following medical school, Dr. Joseph completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio. He then went on to a Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at Case Western Reserve Univerity / Metro-Health Medical Center in Cleveland, OH. During his fellowship, Dr. Joseph received training in nutritional support as well as management of pre- and post-liver transplant patients at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Prior to coming to Louisville, Dr. Joseph practicied in Cincinnati, Ohio. He also practiced and served on the teaching faculty at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Joseph joined Norton Gastroenterology Consultants of Louisville in July 2012. Dr. Joseph has a keen interest in general gastroenterology and hepatology, including acid reflux and ulcer disease, colon cancer screening, hepatitits C and fatty liver. Apart from medicine, Raj plays four musical instruments including the ukelele, has been trained in four languages and has traveled extensivley throughout the world. Raj and his wife, Dr. Neena James (Rheumatology) - who was raised in Louisville, have one daughter named Mia.
