Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium is a stadium located in Louisville, Kentucky on the campus of University of Louisville. Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium currently houses the NCAA team the Louisville Cardinals. The stadium opened under its current name on September 5, 1998 with the construction taking just over two years at a cost of just over $135 million, $190 million in present day dollars. The latest expansion was in 2010, which added over 13,000 seats.
The Louisville Cardinals are members of the Atlantic Coast Conference of the within National Collegiate Athletic Association. They are known by their team colors consisting of red and black. Their mascot is the Cardinal Bird. Past players include David Akers, William Gay and Michael Bush.
The stadium currently holds 55,000 fans. There are 33 luxury suites and over 1,700 seats at the club level. Currently, it is the 52nd largest stadium in the NCAA. The record fan attendance of 55,000 has been recorded multiple times over the years. In terms of parking there is on-campus parking and satellite parking lots both containing general and reserved spots.
Season tickets are available to donors. Individual tickets start at about $15 depending on the game. Tickets are available through the team website and ticket exchanges.
