Ryan Krupp, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon with Norton Orthopedic Institute. He specializes in the treatment of shoulder conditions in adults and children, performing a wide array of shoulder procedures, including complex shoulder reconstruction, rotator cuff surgery, instability operations and other sports-related procedures. Dr. Krupp earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency training. He completed a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas in Spartanburg, South Carolina.Dr. Krupps mission is to provide top-quality, patient-centered care in the areas of sports medicine and complex shoulder reconstruction. He is actively involved in research focused on developing cutting-edge technologies and rehabilitation for current patients, as well as working to improve care for years to come. He is part of a design team bringing forth the next generation of orthopedic innovations, including the latest evolution of stemless total shoulder implants, robotic-assisted shoulder replacement surgery and the use of mixed reality in these surgeries.In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Krupp serves as the executive medical director of orthopedics and the director of sports health and shoulder reconstruction for Norton Healthcare. In that role, he leads Norton Healthcare initiatives to improve the care of athletes in Louisville and surrounding areas with programs such as injury-prevention education, clinical research, Saturday Sports Injury Clinics, certified athletic trainer education, athletic event coverage and community partnerships. Dr. Krupp currently serves as team physician for numerous athletic programs in Louisville, including Bellarmine University, Eastern High School and Kentucky Country Day School.Outside of work, Dr. Krupp enjoys spending time with his family, participating in a wide array of sporting activities, working out and traveling.
