Mercy Academy, founded in 1885 and funded by the Sisters of Mercy, offers Christian education to girls in grades nine through 12. The school s curriculum offers a variety of subjects, including Bible studies, English, mathematics, science, social studies, and health and computer education. It offers a variety of extracurricular activities to students, such as music, arts, chorus, debate and declamation contests. The school has a media center that offers Internet access, books, magazines and journals to students. Its parent-teacher association assists in school activities and organizes fund-raising events. Mercy Academy is located in Louisville, Ky., and has an enrollment of more than 600 students.
