Founded in 1984, Kentucky School for the Blind Charitable Foundation is a not-for-profit 501 (c) dedicated to serving students in Kentucky who are blind or visually impaired. The foundation primarily distributes funds to assist and financially support Kentucky School for the Blind and its statewide outreach services that serve students and their families in Kentucky's 176 school districts. The foundation also makes grant funding available to agencies and activities that advance issues related to the blind and visually impaired. The foundation's goal is to make a difference by supporting academic and cultural opportunities as well as resources and assistive technology that enable blind and visually impaired students to lead independent, productive and successful lives. The foundation strives to fulfill its mission through funding grants, awarding scholarships, providing access to assistive technology, and other supportive endeavors.
