Henry Clay erected this building in 1805. Henry Clay was an aficionado of Bourbon whiskey and introduced his recipe for the Mint Julep at the famous Round Robin Bar in the Willard Hotel in Washington, D.C. , and into the congressional record as Kentucky's official drink.
