With other types of sensors, one or even a combination of these conditions can cause unreliable sensing, which results in periodic stopping to check, clean and sometimes readjust the sensors. For many conventional sensors, some objects are difficult to detect. Because Hyde Park utilizes sound energy rather than light, the company s ultrasonic sensors are effective in detecting a variety of objects as small as 0.003 inch.
