Appalachian Regional Healthcare is a nonprofit health care system serving more than 350,000 residents in and around seven communities in eastern Kentucky and two in southern West Virginia. It offers a health care delivery system made up of hospitals, outpatient services, pharmacies, home delivery of medical equipment and supplies, and the largest rural home health operation in the United States. It participates in collaborative projects with other public and private health care organizations and educational institutions. The Appalachian Regional Healthcare s nearly 5,000 employees and physicians have been providing health care to residents in its 20-county service area since 1963.
