History
The owners took over this location on June 1st 2015 and opened just in time for Jeffersontown's Historic Gaslight Festival on September 17th 2015. This location was previously a church in 1878 and then a Moose Lodge since 1940. The brewery started serving their own beers in January 2016 and has since grown the selection month over month.
Specialties
3rd Turn Brewing in Jeffersontown is located on the historic Gaslight Square in a newly restored 1878 church. The four partners in this unique brewery wanted to bring something old back again, the neighborhood bar. Share drinks and conversation in a comfortable and laid back atmosphere where the worst problem you will experience is trying to decide what to drink next. This indeed is the first brewery to be located outside of the 264 loop which makes them the easiest pick of breweries between Louisville and Lexington. If your friends love the idea of a taproom but aren't into beers, no problem, they also have a modest selection of wines, generous number of bourbons and a few specialty drinks. If your passion is beer and you get excited by being around the people who make beer, this is the perfect place for you. The owners/brewers can be found mingling, beertending, brewing or knocking back a pint themselves most evenings. In taproom tradition they are B.Y.O.F. (Bring Your Own Food), so either bring a meal with you or be a local community supporter and order from a neighboring restaurant and they will deliver food directly to you. 3rd Turn is a 4 BBL brewery and will host a number of their ales but will also curate a host of other guest taps to ensure other local and regional breweries are represented.
