Founded by the Dominican Sisters of Brooklyn in 1902, the Central Kansas Medical Center is a two campus 100-bed regional acute care hospital that serves residents throughout central Kansas. The center s service area represents more than 60,000 people. Its primary campus is located in Great Bend and its secondary campus, St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, is located in Larned. The center s physicians specialize in acute care, birthing, cancer care, cardiology, dialysis, emergency care, mammography, oncology, orthopedics, rehabilitation and surgery. Central Kansas Medical Center s facilities are accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Organizations. The center is affiliated with Catholic Health Initiatives, a Denver-based nonprofit health corporation with hospitals throughout the United States. Central Kansas Medical Center maintains a location in Great Bend, Kan.
