CECU was chartered on July 16, 1941 as a Not For Profit corporation under the laws of the State of Kansas to accept the savings of members . . .To make loans to members for provident purposes . . . And to carry on the business of a credit union in accordance with the General Sessions Law of 1929. The Credit Union is regulated by the Kansas State Department of Credit Unions and the National Credit Union Association (NCUA), an independent agency of the United States government.

About CECU Your Credit Union is a democratic financial cooperative, organized, owned and controlled by its members. The membership of a Credit Union is comprised of a group of people who share a common bond. Individuals invest a small required deposit in a share savings account, which entitles them to all membership benefits including one vote each in the annual election of Directors and Committee members who are qualified member-volunteers. These elected volunteers direct the operations of the Credit Union to benefit all members.
