Nesika Energy, LLC is a Native American-owned ethanol production facility located in Scandia, Kansas. Established in 2008 by a cooperative of 22 local farmers, the state-of-the-art plant has a capacity of 10 million gallons per year and employs 23 members of the community. In addition to producing high-quality ethanol from locally grown corn, Nesika Energy has also ventured into the production of bio-isobutanol, a next-generation renewable biofuel and chemical.
With a focus on sustainability, Nesika Energy operates its plant safely and efficiently, utilizing advanced processes to convert corn starch into alcohol while recovering and reusing water in the production. The plant also supplies the local cattle population with nutrient-rich byproducts from the corn, contributing to the overall agricultural ecosystem. Committed to benefiting the community, Nesika Energy works closely with local farmers and cooperatives to ensure a positive impact on the region.
