First United Methodist Church
Founded in 1870, First United Methodist Church features a range of commissions, organizations, ministries, and programs for men, women, youth, adults and seniors. These include adult seniors, boy scouts, Eucharistic ministers, nursing home, respect life, youth ministries, athletic association, parish partnership, social activities committee, altar servers, and finance council. The church also offers ministries, such as parish life commission, volunteer network, bereavement, evangelization commission, job support network, hunger center, social concerns commission, adult singles, and family life activities group. Located in Wichita, Kan., its preschool and kindergarten enrolls more than 300 students annually. Additionally, First United Methodist Church music ministry provides numerous programs, including worship choir, worship orchestra, student orchestra, school of performing arts, student choir, and children's choirs. The church broadcasts its services on KAKE Channel 10 and ABC Kansas Network.
