Established in 1861, Kansas School for the Deaf is a special education school offering education, support and enrichment programs for children who are hearing impaired. The school offers an early childhood education center, and elementary, middle and high school programs. The early childhood center offers various programs for the development of physical, social, emotional and cognitive skills. The school also offers audiology, occupational and physical therapies, shared reading project, deaf mentoring and sign language classes.
