Futures Unlimited, located in Wellington, Kan., is a nonprofit organization that supports adults, young children and families with disabilities living in Sumner County, Kan. The organization helps such people learn life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and how to get a job in the community. It also provides the support they need to become more independent. It additionally offers its Head Start program for children up to the age of five through half- and full-day preschool classes. The children are provided meals and snacks and take part in outdoor activities in a safe setting. It also operates facilities in Wellington and Caldwell, Kan. and manufactures matchsticks to provide employment-related opportunities for persons challenged by physical and developmental delays.
