In 1968, Electromech Technologies designed and developed the first DC motor for horizontal stabilizers and flaps for general navigation applications. The company specializes in the manufacture and overhaul of AC/DC motors, blowers and actuators for the aerospace and defense industries. Electromech Technologies has in-house engineering resources to design, develop, test, manufacture and support all electromechanical components available. Examples of its design and testing capabilities include: advanced engineering design capability for customized high performance rotating equipment and tools; extensive in-house environmental testing for altitude, temperature, stress and vibration, plus microprocessor control of performance and life testing; high-energy motors with rare Earth samarium cobalt and neodymium iron borbon permanent magnets; AutoCAD with mechanical desktop for solids modeling; finite element analysis through the use of COSMOS/M; and propriety motor design programs for AC and DC motors and blowers. Electromech Technologies is located in Wichita, Kan., and is a subsidiary of McKechnie Aerospace.
