Founded as the Clinton Association for Day Care of Handicapped Children in 1963, Skyline Center is a nonprofit, community-based organization that focuses on serving adults with disabilities. The organization s name was changed to Skyline Center, when it stopped providing children's daycare and moved its focus of service from children to adults. Skyline serves approximately 140 disabled adults. People accepted into Skyline s program must be at least 16 years old. The organization derives its income from contract work received from local and out-of-state industry. Located in Clinton, Iowa, Skyline Center s funds for each program participant are provided by the funding sponsor and from United Way contributions, Clinton County, the state of Iowa and federal monies.
