The Sioux City Police Department works in partnership with the community to provide public safety services and enhance the quality of life. It has more than 120 sworn officers and over 30 civilian members. The department also promotes community policing to facilitate proactive problem solving. The Sioux City Police Department is certified by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. Its victim assistance program offers counseling and advocacy services to the victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, harassment, stalking and personal threat. Located in Sioux City, Iowa, the department conducts presentations on home security, personal safety, identity theft, safe driving and burglary prevention. The Sioux City Police Department also works in collaboration with schools and other community-based organizations to address crime and disorder problems, gangs and drug activities.
